k’awat’si Cold Storage facility serves the growing need on the North Island. Built by the k’awat’si Construction Company and located at the North Island Mall on Trustee Road, the facility has 8000 square feet that holds 2.2 million pounds of cold storage capacity. This capacity will help relieve the 10 million pounds of storage shortfall in the region to serve the growing needs of the local fishing community and the influx of sport fishers during the busy summer month.
Albert Charlie was born and raised in Port Hardy, BC Canada. He is a member of the Nakwaxda’xw and the Gwa’sala Nation. He lives on the Tsulquate Village with his wife and three children.
Albert Charlie has been employed with the k’awat’si Economic Development since 2016 as the Manager for k’awat’si Cold Storage Facility.
He has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in marine aquaculture sector. His commitment to the North Island speaks for itself.
